    What people are saying

This test kit is so easy to use and you get result in under a minute! Much easier than liquid test kits. The colors didn't bleed on the strip like other kits usually do. Furthermore, half of the strips are sealed separately to keep them safe from accidental exposure to water.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Keep the cap on tight between uses and store in room temperature. Once opened, use within 6 months. The shelf life for unopened packages are up to 2 years. The separately sealed pouch offers extended shelf life, maximizing this 2 year period.

The separate pouch is designed to extend the shelf life of the product. This allows half of the test strips to be safe from sun damage and exposure to water. Use the strips in the bottle first, and once used up, empty the pouch (sealed strips) into the bottle.

You should test your pool water at least 2-3 times per week. It is important to pay attention to your pH, Alkalinity, and Chlorine/Bromine levels.

Proper storage and care when using these test strips are the best way to keep them accurate. There are a few ways to do this.

    1. Seal the cap tightly after removing a strip - This keeps moisture out of the bottle which can decrease the strips lifetime.

    2. Do not use wet hands when removing a strip - These test strips will react to any water they are exposed to. Exposing the strips to water will deem them invalid for testing.

    3. Compare results in natural daylight - Artificial light can make color matching difficult. Aim to compare your results in nature's light!

    4. Practice proper storage of the test strips - We recommend storing your test strips indoor. This prevents direct exposure to sunlight, high temperatures, and increased humidity. These simple steps can make all the difference when it comes to accuracy!

Chlorine is a chemical sanitizer that helps keep your Pool or Spa clean and safe from harmful microorganisms - when maintained at proper levels.

Total chlorine is the sum of Free Chlorine and Chloramines. When free chlorine is used up, it looses its effect in killing bacteria and turns into chloramines.
These chloramines can cause skin irritation, eye irritation, and a strong chlorine smell. These side effects are common indicators that you need to shock your pool water.

When your total chlorine level is higher than your free chlorine level, it is time to "shock" your pool to neutralize these chloramines.

These test strips are not designed for saltwater pools. You may receive skewed results when testing a saltwater pool.

The expiration date is labelled on the box. Although, we recommend using the test strips within a year of receiving the strips. Once a package is opened, the strips should be used within 6 months.

These test strips cannot be re-used. One test strip = one test.

Testing strips are faster and simpler than liquid testing kits, with accuracy as good or better. There are less chances to make mistakes when using test strips than there are with liquid testing kits.

Although, there are limitations to everything. We recommend frequent testing to verify your results as well as taking a water sample to the pool store once a month.

Free Chlorine and Bromine have very similar properties which allows us to use the same test reagent for both parameters. This pad acts as a two in one test. Make sure to refer to the black numbers for chlorine, and the blue numbers for bromine when comparing your results.
